How to organize a clear keynote/presentation

In my work I have to make various presentations. Whether long and boring about a very detailed subject or smaller debate-launching ones.

After a few unclear years I have finally discovered the formula to organize a presentation that suits the majority of scenarios. And it’s simple…

  1. Present the question. What does “the stuff you are presenting” answer? What is the motivation?

What do you want to answer with your presentation?

  2. Next, you have to describe how the question is answered. Relevant work in the area. What were the problems found, how can they be solved and what you have done to solve them. This is usually the longest part of your presentation.

    Present problems, requirements, solutions, strategies...

  3. Conclude something. Even if is not a formal conclusion, you must make some concise statement about what you have previously presented.
