Web-based Desktops are gaining popular as the technologies they use are evolving. Current RIA technologies can transform the Internet as a development platform very similar to the Desktop.

BioDesktop could use the eyeOS web desktop framework to create a biology-related web desktop instance. This application could contain interfaces to several other applications and offer, in a single web page, several tools to aid biologists (calendar, e-mail, notes, excel sheets…)
